MovieBeam to call it quits next week
The less than inspired acquisition of Movie Gallery, the film download service known as MovieBeam has apparently hit rock bottom and is set to close down on December 15. Although it received substantial financial support from its maker, Disney and later on from Movie Gallery the service didn't really pick up due to more 'technical' issues which made the service pretty unappealing.

With more user-friendly options for movie downloads already available, MovieBeam was deemed as 'hopeless' and will be shutting down for good, at least in its current form next week. People who have recently jumped in and bought MovieBeam hardware are set to be refunded, although there are no clear details of this yet.
