BenQ preps laptop with two displays

Thursday, December 20, 2007

If clamshell phones have two shiny, sharp displays why can't laptops? That's the question that bugged BenQ recently and the fix for it is the release of a new laptop, one that is equipped with a secondary display. Nicknamed Joybook Q41, the dual-display laptop has a main 14.1” UltraVivid widescreen and a small 2.5” auxiliary display. The 'external' display enables people to use the laptop's VoIP function and will provide them with updated information about the stored media files, RSS feeds, mail and more. This will help the Q41 have a longer battery life without limiting its user from getting the best out of it.

The Core 2 Duo-powered Joybook Q41 will soon hit the stores and will come with Windows Vista pre-installed.
