Dell opens new manufacturing facility in Poland
Claiming increasing demand for its systems Michael Dell has taken a plane to Poland this week to cut the ribbon on Dell's second manufacturing plant on the Old Continent. The Łódź facility is expected to help Dell expand its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and better cater to its clients in these parts of the woods.
"As we saw our Central and Eastern European businesses grow, we knew we needed a manufacturing base here to maintain our ambition for the region. Our operations in Łódź mean we can maintain this momentum and offer a superior service to customers," said Michael Dell.
The plant just opened already has 1,200 workers and it produces Latitude and Inspiron laptops. In addition to investing €200 million into the 37,000 square-meter manufacturing facility Dell has also announced a its intention to deliver $35,000 worth of products to two Łódź schools and have its employees plan trees in the Lublinek forest park. So nice of them.
