Chaintech intros new cooling system for the latest Apogee GT memory
To better cool off the hot heads of its latest DDR3 babies, the Apogee GT DDR3 1800MHz modules, Walton Chaintech (Chaintech for short) has introduced Cool It Smart. This new heatsink system, which comes in the deluxe package of the Apogee memory and is said to increase cooling efficiency by 50% consists of a quite large heatsink equipped with two small and possibly pretty loud cooling fans.

The testing done by Chaintech in a room at 23°C revealed that the DDR3-1800 memory without a heatsink reached 73°C while with the Cool It Smart system it only went up to 52°C (without the fans) and 38°C (with the two fans running). Cool It Smart is 'looking' good when it comes to temps but it would be nice to see how well it performs against Corsair's Dominator cooler.
