Performance peripheral producer Logitech has reached an agreement for the acquisition of WiLife, Inc. The deal will see Logitech extend its presence in the digital home segment as WiLife's portfolio includes a user-friendly PC-based video solution for self-monitoring a home or smaller business.
The Draper, Utah-based developer will be bought by Logitech for $24 million plus a possible performance-based payment and, after the deal is closed it will become part of Logitech’s Internet Communications Business Unit, led by Gina Clark, vice president and general manager.
“The acquisition of WiLife allows Logitech to offer yet another mainstream solution for more convenience and control in the digital home,” said Junien Labrousse, executive vice president of Logitech’s Products Group. "It provides an easy and affordable way to use a PC and video cameras to gain peace of mind when away from home."
If everything goes as planned the acquisition will be a 'done deal' by the middle of the month. read more
