Yahoo signs new licensing deal with Sony BMG
Wanting to be in the clear from lawsuits smiley face Yahoo has extended its video-on-demand license deal with Sony BMG. The new, improved deal will see videos and all-round tracks from artists and bands signed by Sony BMG available through the Yahoo! Music catalog and the Yahoo-branded video players.
"This partnership not only enhances our video offerings, but also offers Sony BMG artists broad exposure among our global audience of music and entertainment fans," says Ian Rogers, general manager of Yahoo! Music.
Now set to cover more territories, the license will be paid for from ad revenues although a percentage has not been disclosed.
