Nvidia nForce 780a motherboard in pretty pixels

Thursday, November 1, 2007

Before the 790i Nvidia will have to release its nForce 780 series of chipsets and, besides the 780i, the Green Team will have the AM2+-ready 780a. This new chip will battle it out from this month on with AMD"s 790FX but before getting there, it had to be leaked on the www for all (but AMD) to admire. As you can see from the picture below, the reference 780a motherboard features a small but active cooler on the northbridge, three PCI-Express x16 slots (triple-SLI capable) and four DDR2-1066 slots. Keeping the company's theme, the 780a board is nice and green and boasts six SATA ports, two UATA connectors, one Gigabit Ethernet port and an display at the bottom. The nForce 780a will be released on November 12.
